We’re back! Did you miss us? This episode, Randy & Anthony cover Stevie’s contributions to Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled 1976 album (often referred to as The White Album).

As the story goes, Fleetwood Mac relocated to Los Angeles, where they recorded and released ‘Heroes Are Hard To Find,’ in 1974. As the tour wrapped up, Mick Fleetwood was shopping around for a studio to record the follow up. He visited Sound City where engineer Keith Olsen played him a sample of an album they had recently recorded. The album in question was ‘Buckingham Nicks,’ by Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks.

Shortly afterward, guitarist Bob Welch departed the band. Needing a replacement quickly, Fleetwood called Buckingham on New Year’s Eve 1974, and invited him to join the group. Buckingham’s only condition was to include Nicks in the package.

Recorded between January and March 1975, the album was released on July 11, 1975. The band toured behind the album for months, while its singles ‘Over My Head,’ ‘Rhiannon,’ and ‘Say You Love Me,’ climbed the charts.

The group performed on ‘The Midnight Special,’ in 1976, where Stevie tore into ‘Rhiannon,’ introducing her to the world.

The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200 on September 4, 1976, 57 weeks after entering the chart.

By then, the band was hard at work on the follow up…
